Behind the name

Named for a
village peacock.

Percy House is named for Percy, a peacock who turned up in the English village of Church Eaton, Staffordshire, and stayed. Disston Heights has peacocks of its own: in 2020 the Tampa Bay Times wrote about the birds that roam the neighborhood. The name is a nod to the neighbors who give a place its character.
